Born in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, in 1958, Hamid started serving as President Commissioner of PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) in April 2014 after previously serving as President Director and Deputy Managing Director of Chevron Indo-Asia Business Unit since March 2010.
He commenced his career with CPI in 1982 as Computer Analyst Programmer and subsequently worked in a variety of positions including VP General Affairs, VP Finance, VP Planning & Technology, Sr. VP Business Services, and Sr. VP Sumatra Operations Support.
Hamid holds a degree in electrical engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 1982, and a Master of Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, in 1999.
He was appointed as the Executive Sponsor for Chevron University Partnership Program (2006—2014), Founder of Indonesian Business Coalition on AIDS (2008—2014), Board of Trustees of USINDO (2010—2014), and Coordinator Multi National Company (MNC) of Business Community against Bribery (2010—2013). He was appointed as Head of Permanent Commission on Upstream Oil & Gas at Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) since March 2013 until now.
Starting January 2014, he teaches Business Ethics class at School of Business and Management ITB.
