Astari is a Trade Economist and Government Relations in Indonesia Services Dialogue (ISD) Council. In ISD, Astari is responsible in having analytical and quantitative policy-oriented research on economic issues and writing policy and research papers. Astari is also responsible in conducting advocacy on relevant issues based on ISD research papers and policy recommendations to government of Indonesia.
In her previous role, she was involved in Indonesia Chamber of Commerce as an Economist focusing on Free Trade Agreement project under International Relation division. Before, she was assisting Professor Mari Elka Pangestu (former Minister of Tourism and former Minister of Trade) as a Researcher in writing a journal together with Professor Christopher Findlay (University of Adelaide) with title "The Services Sector as a Driver of Change: Indonesia's Experience in the ASEAN Context". She was also working with Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Governance (AIPEG) for almost 4 years as a Trade Analyst Consultant in Trade and Competitiveness Engagement Area. She is very familiar with economic issues related to trade in goods, trade in services, investment and international trade negotiations.
Astari was graduated from Faculty of Economics University of Indonesia, concentration of Public Policy and Industry Economics and also from Royal Holloway, University of London, United Kingdom with major Financial Economics.
