Paulus Agung Pambudhi is currently serves as Executive Director of National Executive Board (DPN) of The Employers’ Association of Indonesia (APINDO). He takes a leadership role in managing Staffs in APINDO National Secretariat. He is responsible for strengthening the coordination with 33 Provincial APINDO branches overseeing about 300 regencies/cities in Indonesia enhancing industrial-relations in particular and addressing other business-related issues in general.
Agung obtained his Master Degree in Business Administration from Atma Jaya University, Indonesia. His professional career is a combination of private and public-sector experiences. He spent the first 11 years working as an export marketer in an integrated textile and garment manufacture and as a productivity specialist with exposure in garment, paper, cement, steel, speaker, compressor, and plywood industries. He subsequently spent another 11 years handling economic governance issues in a non-profit organization, KPPOD (The Regional Autonomy Watch).
He participates in a wide range of business-related issues such as regulatory & bureaucracy reforms, fiscal decentralization, business licensing, and industrial relations. He served as Deputy Head of Compartment of Taxation and Public Policy of National Board of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) from 2005 to 2012.
Under President SBY administration in 2004—2012, Agung was assigned as a government expert in numerous institutions (Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs, National Investment Board, National Planning Agency, and Ministry of Trade) to work on various issues such as licensing, taxation, SME development, regulatory & bureaucracy reforms, and many others. From mid-2012 to mid-2013, he conducted independent research on economic governance as a Senior Research Practitioner/Fellow at Ash Center of Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA.
